Visual Studio 2005/2008 on Vista Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

I faced a strange problem with Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2008 which is I have several ASP.NET Projects some of them using .NET 2.0 or Visual Studio 2005 and the others are using .NET 3.5 or Visual Studio 2008.

The problem was when I try to run the Web Application I got this error:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

I am not using IIS for these Web Application. I have tryied the usual solutions such as Restart the Visual Studio, Restart my Laptop and Reinstall Visual Studio but nothing solve this problem. After searching for a solution for this problem I finally got the answer.

All you have to do is editing the host file located here %windir%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

Open this file with Note Pad don't forget to right Click and Run as administrator. Just comment the line that contains localhost as shown below:

No restart is needed, either of computer or Visual Studio.

The permissions granted to user 'Domain\UserName' are insufficient for performing this operation

I have faced a problem when I tried to open the Reporting Service Web Site for SQL Server 2005 running on Vista Ultimate.

As you can see from the title of the post the error was

"The permissions granted to user 'Domain\UserName' are insufficient for performing this operation"

I have installed SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 and grant the user the Administrator permissions and I still got this error!

Finally, you can just open the Internet Explorer with Right Click Run as Administrator and it will work.

The Windows Installer Service is unavailable!

I got this error when I was trying to install any application, I didn't know if this error is a bug in Windows Vista Ultimate or a bug in Windows Installer.
However finally I got the solution after days of searching Google to get any solution for this error but I didn't find any.

What I have discovered so far is an application or registry entry I don't know, it starts the Windows installer process not the service and keeps it running so when you try to install it gives you this error:

"Another application may be running setup. Finish any installation in progress, or restart your computer and re-run the setup"

It feels that you are running another setup.

To be able to run your setup just ends the Windows Installer Process from the Task Manager.
